Advice About Getting Dressed When Bloated

Advice About Getting Dressed When Bloated

No one wants to be bloated but it happens!  I’ve learned how important it is to not only take care of yourself from a health and nutrition perspective, but taking care of your mental state is equally as important; and fashion wellness is a subset of that.  Dressing comfortably and stylish can bring a new sense of confidence to people who may have lost it during their bloating journey.

I used to spend so much money on clothes that I thought I should buy, outfits that would make me look like someone I was not. I would wear things that were so tight and uncomfortable because I thought that is what I was supposed to do. Now that I’ve accepted my bloating and my body, I just want to feel comfortable, in clothes that are practical that fit my lifestyle, and most of all, clothes that make me happy.

My advice on bloat-friendly fashion: If you feel good in what you’re wearing and it works for you, don't change it!  But  IF you don’t feel good in what you are wearing, you’re clothes are uncomfortable and you feel like you are lacking style, invest some time and energy in updating your wardrobe so you feel good.  The goal of bloated fashion is to feel good, comfortable and happy in your clothes, despite your bloating.  If thats something that you’re looking for, we are here to help you.

Some tips to keep in mind to dress comfy and stylish, quick and easy:

Dress for your body shape.  Discover your body shape, and choose clothing that highlights your assets.

Pay attention to proportions.  Proportions are what can bring your outfit from frumpy to stylish.

Build a capsule wardrobe.  A capsule wardrobe requires a bit of work up front, and then it is a plug and play system.  All of the items in your closet you love, fit you and you know what outfits to create with them.  It makes looking stylish and feeling comfortable, quick and easy for all occasions.
